Data Protection Officer
Under Article 37 of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), the requirement to appoint a DPO is outlined. Many organizations have realized that due to conflict of interests, they may be better to appoint an outside DPO than to make the Chief Privacy Officer or some other internal staff member, wear that hat.
Newport Thomson is aware of the critical nature of this role and we work with your team to ensure ongoing compliance. As your data systems change, your HR policies and procedures or indeed the direction of your business, your DPO should be that objective perspective to point out business risks and help manage your Privacy and Security Programs.
As every organization operates in their own way, no two DPO assignments are the same. We will clearly define scope of work and then set budgets and timelines, before you are sent your first invoice. We love the “no surprises” style of providing trusted services and do everything we can to clearly define the assignment before we agree to it.
